about therapy
Therapy isn't about having the perfect words or knowing exactly where to start. Sometimes it begins with feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or simply recognizing that something important deserves attention.
Therapy provides a space to slow down, better understand yourself and your relationships, and intentionally create meaningful change. Some people come during times of crisis, while others come because they want to strengthen something that already matters deeply to them.
Healing rarely happens in isolation. As a relational and systemic therapist, understanding the patterns between people is just as important as understanding the experiences within them. Whether we focus on you as an individual, a partnership, or a larger system, the goal remains the same: increasing understanding, expanding choice, and creating the confidence to build the life and relationships you want ON PURPOSE.

services

Introductory Assessment
Every client begins with an Introductory Assessment appointment designed to create an initial outline of what has been going on for you and your relationships. During the appointment, you can expect a conversation focused on your current concerns, relevant history, what you hope will be different as a result of therapy, and any questions you may have about the process. While difficult experiences and challenges are often discussed, the goal is not to tell your entire story in a single session, but to begin developing a clearer picture of where you are and where you would like to go.
I will not assign blame or make judgments about who is right or wrong. Instead, my priority is understanding the patterns, experiences, strengths, and resources that will shape the work ahead. This information helps guide recommendations regarding which services, structure, and pace are likely to provide the greatest benefit moving forward. Recommendations are based on your unique circumstances rather than a predetermined treatment model.
To make the most of our time together, all intake paperwork and any requested assessments must be completed prior to the appointment. Introductory Assessments are scheduled for up to 100 minutes to allow meaningful time for gathering information, discussing goals, and developing recommendations for next steps.
Introductory Assessment Sessions - $150.

Relational Therapy
Relationships shape nearly every part of our lives, yet few of us are ever taught how to navigate conflict, communicate effectively, repair misunderstandings, or maintain connection through periods of stress and change. Relational Therapy provides a space to better understand the patterns between people and develop new ways of responding to one another. Some clients come because something feels broken, while others come because they want to strengthen something that already matters deeply to them. Whether the goal is repair, growth, preparation, or prevention, the work remains the same: increasing understanding, strengthening connection, and intentionally creating the relationship you want ON PURPOSE.

Single Sessions
Traditional 50-minute therapy/counseling sessions provide space to slow down, explore patterns, and create meaningful change over time. These sessions are available for relationships of all structures and focus on improving communication, increasing self-understanding, strengthening connection, and addressing concerns related to intimacy, conflict, identity, life transitions, and emotional wellbeing.
Traditional sessions are often particularly helpful for ongoing support, deeper exploration of longstanding patterns, and concerns that benefit from time, reflection, and gradual change.
Clients seeking a more in-depth, accelerated experience may find that one of the specialized services is a more effective and efficient path toward their goals.

Intensives
Couples’ Intensives are designed for partners who want enough uninterrupted time to understand what is happening in their relationship and begin moving in a better direction. In traditional sessions, important conversations may only begin to take shape just as the clock runs out. An intensive allows us to remain with the work long enough to identify patterns, slow down difficult interactions, practice new responses, and develop a clearer path forward without repeatedly stopping and starting.
An intensive is not several hours of arguing, reliving every painful event, or being pushed toward a particular decision. The session is paced and guided throughout, with breaks as needed. We will establish priorities together, explore the concerns beneath the immediate conflict, and focus on the conversations and skills most relevant to your goals. The additional time allows space for reflection, discussion, clarification, and repair rather than rushing toward a conclusion.
This format can be valuable for couples facing significant concerns, but it is not reserved for those in crisis. Intensives can also help partners who feel stuck in familiar patterns, have demanding schedules, or prefer a focused experience over months of weekly appointments.

ON PURPOSE
Premarital Preparation Program
Premarital counseling provides an opportunity to prepare for the relationship that comes after the cake is cut and the dancing ends. The goal is not to predict every challenge you may face, but to develop the skills, habits, and confidence to face those challenges together and intentionally create the relationship you want ON PURPOSE.
Rather than focusing primarily on checklists or predefined topics, this specialized ON PURPOSE format highlights the practices that help relationships thrive over time: communication, conflict management, repair, decision-making, and creating a partnership that honors both connection and personhood. The goal is not simply to prepare for a wedding, but to prepare for a lifetime of conversations, transitions, decisions, and experiences shared together.
Whether this is your first marriage or another chapter in your relationship story, every relationship arrives with its own strengths, experiences, expectations, and lessons. Premarital counseling creates an opportunity to identify what you want to carry forward, what you want to do differently, and what kind of partnership you want to create moving forward. If children, blended families, or previous relationships are part of your story, those experiences will be part of the conversation as well.
Premarital counseling is generally proactive and practical, focusing on building strong foundations before challenges become crises. If you are already navigating significant relationship distress, repeated conflict, betrayals, unresolved injuries, or deeper relational challenges, Single Sessions or Intensives may be a better fit.
Eight Structured 50-minute Sessions - $1000
This may be paid in full at enrollment or divided into two payments of $500,
the first due at enrollment, the second due prior to the third session.

ON PURPOSE
Better Relationship Program
The ON PURPOSE Better Relationship Program was created around a simple idea: people routinely devote enormous amounts of time, energy, and intention to careers, education, homes, and physical health while expecting relationships to somehow thrive on whatever time and attention remain. Relationships are often expected to succeed naturally despite being one of the most complex and important parts of our lives.
This program is designed for partners who want to approach their relationship with the same level of intention they bring to other meaningful areas of life. By combining individual reflection, traditional sessions, and intensive work into a unified structure, the program allows clients to benefit from the unique strengths of each format rather than relying exclusively on any one approach.
Together, these pieces build upon one another, creating continuity and momentum while allowing the work to remain active and connected from beginning to end. Unlike traditional weekly therapy, where important conversations may be spread across numerous appointments, the ON PURPOSE Program is designed to help clients spend less time restarting conversations and more time building on the work already accomplished. As a result, the program is typically completed over six to eight weeks rather than the four to six months often required to cover similar ground through traditional weekly sessions alone.
If you're ready to stop hoping your relationship improves on its own and begin investing in it ON PURPOSE, I invite you to reach out and learn more about whether this program may be a good fit for you.
This programs consists of:
-
A double session divided into three parts: two individual segments and one joint goal-planning segment.
-
Two 50-minute Relational Sessions focused on skill building and preparation for the intensives.
-
Two 150-minute Relational Intensives dedicated to deeper exploration and meaningful change.
-
A final 50-minute session for reflection, consolidation, and planning next steps.
The total cost of the program is $1,350 and may be paid in full at enrollment or divided
into two payments of $750, due at enrollment, and $600, due prior to the first Intensive.

Individual Therapy
Individual Therapy provides an opportunity to slow down, step out of survival mode, and intentionally consider the kind of life you want to create moving forward. Sometimes that work begins in response to a crisis, loss, or transition. Other times it begins with the recognition that something important deserves attention, even if nothing is technically "wrong."
Together, we explore the patterns, beliefs, experiences, and relationships that have shaped who you are while making space for who you are still becoming. The goal is not simply to reduce distress, but to increase understanding, expand choice, and create greater alignment between your values, your relationships, and the life you want to build.
Whether the work involves identity, boundaries, communication, life transitions, self-worth, sexuality, relationships, or simply feeling more connected to yourself, therapy provides a space to approach those questions deliberately, intentionally, and ON PURPOSE.
